A Thrill of Hope

Hope || #OneWord365

This weary soul of mine is in need of a thrill of hope, a new morning.
Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.
And it so has.
The last month was full of much doubt, some despair and only recently have I chosen to fight my way out of it by clinging to the joy of the Lord as my strength in every season in which HE is still God. Bidding me to be still once more. Tracing the tapestry of all God's done in 2015 was humbling, bittersweet and filled with genuine thanks. Free as the One Word for 2015 fit. It was a trying, hard, amazingly freeing year.
The Lord is within me. Within the old year, in the brand new one. Whispering to my soul,
Be still, and hold to H O P E
The word came clearly when I was at a complete lost as to what word 2016 could hold.
The unknown is dark and deep. But not so deep or wide as the love of the Lord that will carry me through everything, come what may. Blessed be His name, He gives and takes away. And these are all the words I can pen for the moment, embracing a new hope.
A hope that has been there all along.

  1. Such beautiful words from such an amazing song. Truly! The Lord is the only hope we need in this uncertain world. Thank you for sharing this inspiring message of hope.

    I love the song you quoted "Oh Holy Night". I get chills just thinking about the next line "fall on your knees.... Hear the angels voices.... O Night Devine... O Night when Christ was born...

    So beautiful! I can just imagine the angels singing it. nothing is quite as wonderous as the old hymns at Christmas!

    As for the New Year and thinking to the future... There's another lovely song that always makes me feel better... "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow". My favorite version is Leann Rimes singing it from many years ago.

    Here's a link to the lyrics: http://www.metrolyrics.com/i-know-who-holds-tomorrow-lyrics-leann-rimes.html

    You can probably watch her or Alison Krauss sing it on You Tube. It always lifts me up and I hope it does the same for you! :)

    God bless!!! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, Net

  2. Beautiful words. I struggled deeply to find Hope last year but when I did, in Jesus, it rocked my world.

Pull up a chair, grab a cup of something hot or cold to drink, and enjoy. I love making new friends!
