From the Ashes || Resurrection Power

It's Monday again. A major holiday is past, Easter dresses are stored away, perhaps too much ham (or here in Pittsburgh, kielbasa) or chocolate was enjoyed and today moves at a snail's pace. Real life can crash down especially hard even after a holiday where Christ's ultimate love offering was celebrated. This week alone I see my doctor to schedule my left hip replacement for June, and Lord willing be cleared 100% and return to relative normalcy. Last week two younger siblings had doctors' appts not without their worries; this week more of the same. There are a lot more hard times coming on the horizon--like darkening storm clouds.
But...just yesterday we celebrated the Way, the Truth and the Life that can be found through Jesus' ultimate love sacrifice. In taking the time to celebrate our victory in Jesus, raise our hands in grateful, humbled praise for such a love, the focus was off of those darkening storm clouds and on the brightest light we will ever behold--brighter than the sun, because it is THE Son who created the universe alongside His Father God.

So then how shall we then live?

What if we lived every day with the same smile and glad, light heart we have on Resurrection Sunday?
What if we clung to and claimed the power of death defeated for all time as ours--Jesus as ours, every day of our lives? Yes, even Mondays. Yes, even through the times of fiery trial when we emerge as fragile as ashes.
Just think--what if we soured on wings like eagles on the waves of Christ's resurrection power?

Words, history, and grace color my days here in The Burgh where I seek out the perfect coffee and red lipstick.
